(Reuters) – Romanian world primary Simona Halep overcame sturdy winds and a decided Petra Martic of Croatia to advance to the BNP Paribas Open semi-finals with a three-set victory on Wednesday.
Halep’s 6-Four 6-7(5) 6-Three triumph ensured she superior to the semi-finals at Indian Wells for the third time.
The highest seed closed out the match with the fast effectivity of three winners after a sequence of lengthy video games that had swung backwards and forwards on the breezy afternoon.
